Torsten Ridell is a Swedish artist, born in 1946 in Malmo. His works focus on showing space and its implications by painting lines or strips, generally black or white, to form abstract figures, reducing the elements of an image to produce concrete and constructive works.

Ridell studied at the Forum school of fine arts and at Paris University VIII / Vincennes. He lives and works in Paris and in Malmo, and has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the Gallery Frances Kamien in 2009.
