Description

Analívia Cordeiro, PhD, with two postdoc, member of the International Dance Committee CID UNESCO, architect, dancer, choreographer, video artist, and researcher of human movement, has developed fifty-three years of art creation focused on body language, encompassing multiple fields of inquiry and diverse media.

Her principal area of investigation concerns the relationship between the body and new technologies. She is an international pioneer in computer dance and considered the first Latin American video artist (1973), with the work M3x3. In the 1980s, together with computer scientist Nilton Lobo, she was among the pioneers of motion capture, whose approach influenced and helped to shape contemporary developments in the field. This research led to the creation of Nota-Anna, a human movement notation software designed to be easily accessible and usable by anyone, anywhere.
Her work is extensive and remains relevant, producing innovative contributions up to the present day exploring new understandings of the interactions between emotional expression, biological equilibrium, and human bodily movement.

Analívia is the daughter of computer art pioneer, Waldemar Cordeiro
