Description
Daniel Temkin (b. 1973, Boston) makes images, programming languages, and interactive pieces that explore systems of logic and language. He was recently awarded the 2014 Creative Capital / Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant for the esoteric.codes blog, his exploration of programming languages as art. His work has been a critic’s pick in ArtNews, the New York Times and the Boston Globe, and shown at Mass MoCA, American History Museum, and projected on the Manhattan Bridge as part of Dumbo Arts Fest. He has presented at conferences such as SIGGRAPH, ISEA, Media Art Histories, GLI.TC/H, and hacker conferences such as NOTACON. His writing have been published in World Picture Journal, Leonardo, Grafik, and others. He is a 2012 graduate of the International Center of Photography / Bard College MFA program in Advanced Photographic Studies.
